WEAR ME RIGA
What does your clothes mean to you?
The cloth is our signal to the world, but what stories are hidden underneath the clothes? The artist Tine Louise Kortermand have been walking from house to house in Riga asking women to contribute with a piece of their old cloth and a story that is connected to the cloth. From this material she is going to create a new female dress. And with the dress appears a new united story of women in Riga.
WALK FREEDOM STREET IN A FEMALE DRESS
During Riga Performance Festival Tine Louise Kortermand will sit on a public bench on Jaunavu Street in the old city of Riga everyday sewing the dress.
All women are welcome to come by and contribute with peace of their cloth and a story about the cloth.
When Tine Louise have finished the dress she will walk Freedom Street wearing the dress she created.
The walk is starting by the big theatre on Freedom Street and ends up in a small room where she will be singing a song written with inspiration in the women’s personal stories. The singing performance will be at Runa Tea Room.

Art is something we do together
The core of relational art is meeting other people through the art experience. Meaning that the art work only exists the moment it initiates human interaction. Through this work I create a space for exchanging interpersonal experiences. Telling womens stories from all kind of social layers and cultures I unite women voices through my singing voice at the end of the performance.
