Marcella Quinchavil Steen
Swedish-Chilean dance artist based in Sweden. Her artistic practice is inspired of somatic practices, everyday habits and how words
construct situations. Her performative interest lies in the banal, knowledge value and the vulnerable and ridiculous in being a human. That, in order to have a
critical perspective on feelings, performance and power structures.
She graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a first class degree BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance, London, U.K. Currently, she is
undertaking a MFA in Performing Arts with specialization in Contemporary Performative Arts at the Academy of Music and Drama, Gothenburg, Sweden. She
has worked with choreographers such as Charlotte Darbyshire, Simon Vincenzi, and Susan Sentler amongst others. She has substantial experience in working with
integrative dance companies and devising processes.
