SEMINAR17 / SENSE THE ART is built on a phenomenological principle; Sense it … Don’t tell it!
No dry speeches but concrete examples of new ways to involve the audience in performative works through the senses. This way the participants of the seminar will experience the same things as the audience … this is theory shown in practice. In the seminar cultural institutions from Spain, England, Norway, Finland and Denmark demonstrate how they have done. We share our experiences within relational and phenomenological aesthetics and transformational economy. Here will be fire, smoke, and delicious food served to the senses. The seminar will present both art and thoughts about art reaching out into the world and out to the audience and the surrounding society … and does it with a direct use of the senses of the body. Here is room for reflection in the company of good experienced people from musical drama, performance art and art which is on the verge of tipping…

WHEN: Friday 1. September at 13.30 – until Saturday 2. September at 18.30

Hear, experience and share your thoughts and experiences with:

Tine Louise Kortermand (DK) – hear how the experiences of the war veterans create the background for a music dramatical performance across the art forms. Experience the performance NATURE WILD and the house-artist project YOUNG NATURE WILD.

Annette Arlander (SF/S) – Combining video-footage, a large tree and an old fashioned swing she invites you, the audience, to share the motion of swinging as the night falls in Munkemose. Being not only an artist but also an experienced researcher and pedagogue she will also explain the theory behind her works.

Miguel Oyarzun (ES/UK) – join us on a trip to the poorest immigrants without identity in Madrid and to the working-class district of Birmingham. See how cultural and aesthetic experiences can create and change identities.

Birgit Løkke (DK) – with the help of electric tubes you are invited to make music together with the composer of CELL. Music which at the same time will be transformed to a real musical work.

Tiina Molder (EST) – we will be presented for different ways of opening op the thoughts feeling and emotions of the young participant.

Bolette Borg (DK) – Based on Qi gong, physical and sensuous practice and playing around you will gain new insights on how to increase your physical awareness.

Sofie Christiansen (DK) – create a dance together with Sofie (and meet different ways of being engaged in the process of creating).

Monna Dithmer (DK) – get tools for understanding these new works. And be presented for frames to understand the performances, thoughts and experiences that we have met at the seminar.

And many more… (the programme will be updated continuously)
